Conflicting Programs Detected Message

Radialpoint Security Services is saying it has detected programs that are in conflict. Do I have to remove them?

When you first Radialpoint Security Services, you may see a message stating that conflicting programs have been detected. This dialog box may also appear if you install a conflicting program after installing Radialpoint Security Services. Radialpoint Security Services will offer to begin removal of the conflicting programs automatically.

This dialog box appears because the programs listed are known to conflict with Radialpoint Security Services. The conflicting program may interfere with the proper operation of certain services, or your computer may experience other intermittent problems. In general, running other programs that perform similar functions as Radialpoint Security Services is not recommended, as your computer's performance may suffer. For example, you may notice significant slowdown if you are running two real-time anti-virus programs at the same time.

You are not required to remove most conflicting programs. However, if you are not using the other program, it is recommended that you do so. In rare cases, removal of a program may be required, and Radialpoint Security Services will not run until the program has been removed from your computer. Programs that require removal are listed with "required removal" next to the name of the program.

How do I remove conflicting programs?

Select the programs you want to remove, and click Uninstall. All detected programs are selected by default.

Radialpoint Security Services will initiate removal of the program using the program's uninstaller. From there, the program's uninstaller will provide instructions.

You will most likelly need to restart your computer after a program has been removed, and it is recommended that you always restart when prompted.
